Celebrate the Season

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a very happy Christmas!! And I hope Santa brought you everything on your wish list!! Any fun new craft supplies??!! I'm sorry I haven't been around to visit this weekend...we had a family celebration and I took an "unplugged" break all weekend, so this is a scheduled post :) I hope to be able to stop by your blogs sometime this week. It's my turn to post on the My Craft Spot blog and I have some last Christmas cards to share with you :)

For these cards, I wanted the texture to be the focal point, so I used embossing folders from Sizzix and Cuttlebug. I lightly sprayed the heavyweight cardstock before I embossed it for maximum effect. The poinsettia is a Spellbinders die and I added berries from Hobby Lobby to the inside. The tag is a Tiny Tags die and the layers were adhered with foam tape. The sentiment is from the Tiny Tags Christmas stamp set. It was heat embossed with red embossing powder.

The cards are secured with a belly band that slips off so you can open the card to reveal...

...the beautiful sentiment from the Christmas Chalkboard stamp set. It was also heat embossed with red embossing powder.

I am entering these in the following challeges:

Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Loves Rubberstamps Challenge - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope you have a very Happy New Year and that 2015 brings you much love, happiness and many, many blessings :)

Faith and Merry Christmas :)

Happy Christmas Eve!! I hope you are all ready for Santa to visit tonight!! I had hoped to have more antics with my sweet elf friend Faith to share with you, but she has been otherwise occupied. As I was giving her a tour of my parents' RV, she met their RV mascot Sammy and...

...fell in love!! They have been inseparable since!!

Sammy wooed her...instead of a dozen roses, he gifted her with a beautiful Christmas poinsettia in honor of the season :)

They made googly eyes at each other as they shared a milkshake in front of the Christmas tree.

He then took her to view the Nativity...remembering the reason for the season :)

Faith loves to ice skate, so Sammy took her to Rockefeller Center...well as close as you can get without leaving Indiana ;)

It was such a beautiful day yesterday...in the 50's...so Sammy decided to take her on a bike ride!!

OH NO!! A mountain lion!!

Oh, wait, it's just my sweet kitty, Calypso :) (she is so not impressed with my elf antics ;)

They ended their whirlwind date with a glass of wine by the fire :) So it looks like Faith will be taking to the road next year with Sammy in the RV!! Stay tuned for on-the-road adventures!! I'm linking this up with Diana's Elf Antics!!

I want to wish you all the most wonderful, happy holiday season!! And may 2015 bring you much love, happiness and many, many blessings!! Hugs!!

Tis The Season To Be Jolly!!

Happy Monday, everyone!! I want to thank you all for the sweet birthday wishes - I appreciate it so much!! It's my turn to post on the My Craft Spot blog and I have a few quick Christmas cards to share with you today :)

These cards are small...they measure 2 3/4 x 3 3/4...perfect to tuck inside a gift bag or stocking. The papers are all from The Paper Studio. The cards were all created with a Technique Tuesday Magic Circle Card die. For this card, I used the 'Tis The Season...' sentiment from the O Holy Night stamp set. The top layer was popped up with foam tape for dimension.

'O Christmas Tree' is also from the O Holy Night stamp set, and it was heat embossed with black embossing powder.

'Noel' is from the Tiny Tags Christmas set. It was heat embossed in gold embossing powder. These were quick and easy to mass produce and are flat enough to mail...though I did add a bit of dimension on all three cards :)

Make sure to check out the 12 Days of Christmas Specials at My Craft Spot!! Kimberly has some amazing deals!!

I am entering this in the Loves Rubberstamps Challenge - Anything Goes.

I hope to be back with one more post before Christmas!! Have a great day :)

Thank You!!

Happy Friday!! Only a few more days until Christmas...I hope you are almost done with your shopping and preparations!! It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog and I took a step away from Christmas cards to create this thank you card.

The Cut Out dies are so much fun - they make a beautiful focal point on the front of a card. I cut the Thank You Cut Out die out of first the base paper and then the top layer, offsetting it a bit. Behind the Thank You, I added iridescent vellum to highlight the sentiment. A Whispers Lacey Dots die was tucked beneath the ribbon and adorned with gems. A Wee Petites Button die was added to the center of the bow. A Wee Petites Buggy Butterfly was covered in sugar coating and gems and popped up with foam tape for dimension.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Anything Goes
  2. DL.Art - December Linky
Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope all of you have a very merry holiday season and that 2015 brings you much love and happiness :)

I haven't seen my craft room in days. Ugh. But - it is time for another fun challenge at Scrapy Land. This week, the theme is Holidays using a brand of die that Scrapy Land carries.

It was covered in Sparkle N Sprinkle Victorian Christmas glitter. The bulbs were covered in SNS Fire Engine Red glitter. The Scarlet Red crinkle ribbon is from My Craft Spot. The button is a Die-Versions Wee Petites Button die, covered in SNS Victorian Christmas glitter.

The poinsettias are Spellbinders Poinsettia dies. The pine cones and berries are from Hobby Lobby.

Meet Faith!!

Happy Saturday!! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!! I have someone special I want you to meet!! This is Faith...

Faith was sent to me by my dear friend Diana of Dl.Art, and her elf friend, Hope. Faith made the long trip from warm California to the chilly temps of Indiana...she didn't complain, but I don't know that I would have been so nice ;) The first thing she wanted to do was pierce her ears, so she is sporting some fashionable diamond studs ;)

Next, Faith wanted to pen a note to her Cali friends to let them know she arrived safely. So she commandeered my laptop and typed out a quick note.

As I was giving her the tour of our craft room, she couldn't wait to play with my new Explore, so she ran over to turn it on.

But soon her long travels took their toll and she was exhausted. So I set her up in the barcalounger with some homemade Chex mix and the remote and she was one happy elf :)

Stay tuned for more elf adventures with Faith!! Thank you again, Diana and Hope!! I'm linking this up with Diana's Elf Antics Linky Party.

Have a wonderful weekend :)

Celebrate the Season!!

Happy Thursday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! It's my turn to post on the My Craft Spot blog and I have a Christmas project with you today using several of my favorite MCS products.

I had so much fun putting this card together :) I won a giveaway from my sweet blog friend Patti of Cherish Each Precious Day for a copy of CardMaker Magazine's Interactive Cards book. There were so many creative folds and I chose this one to try first. The papers are from The Paper Studio. In the center of the card, I used MCS Tiny Doilies dies and popped them up with foam tape for dimension. The butterflies are from the Small Alphabet set. They were covered with sugar coating. The banner is a Ribbon Banners Wavy die. Merry Christmas is from the Naughty or Nice stamp set.

Here comes the fun part...when you pull the tag, hidden sentiments are revealed!! I couldn't even begin to tell you the steps it took to create this card...there were some sketchy times when I wasn't sure it was going to work at all ;)  Vintage Vanilla Crinkle Ribbon and Cherry Red Twine were used for the tag. Celebrate the Season is from Tiny Tags Christmas. May The True Spirit of Christmas sentiment is from Joy Filled Christmas.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1. DL.Art - December Linky
3. Little Scrap Pieces - Show It Off Saturday

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great Thursday :)

Happy Birthday

Happy Friday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions Blog and I have a birthday project to share with you using several Die-Versions dies.

For this card, I used a Whispers Summer Flowers Background die as the base. The edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA.

The butterflies fluttering about are Wee Petites Buggy dies, and they were covered with sugar coating and popped up with foam tape. Gems were placed on the centers of the flowers.

For the Happy sentiment, I used the largest button in the Wee Petites Button die set. Birthday is a Sweet Wordlet Birthday die. A Whispers Lacy Dots die was placed under the ribbon. It's a little hard to see in the pictures, but Whispers Daisy Flair dies were cut in vellum and tucked among the Wild Orchid Crafts flowers.

Scrapy Land Blog Challenge #7 - Anything Goes

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful first week of December!! It's time for another fun challenge at Scrapy Land and it's everyone's favorite - Anything Goes using a brand of dies that SL sells!! There are over 40 to choose from!!

M

For my project, I created a mixed media canvas for my niece for Christmas. She just redecorated her room with a Paris theme and she loves colors. The  papers were adhered to the canvas and then brushed with a wash of Gesso to tone down the colors. Random stamps were stamped on the background. A Tim Holtz Honeycomb stencil was used with Wendy Vecchi embossing paste, and a The Crafter's Workshop along the bottom with WV Black Stencil Paste. Another TCW stencil was used along the top.

The banners were cut with Taylored Expressions Banner Stacklets Dies and covered in Sugar Coating. The letters are Die-Versions Downhill Fonts. The adorable plane and banner are from Obsession Impression. The butterflies are Memory Box Darla dies. The flowers are from WIld Orchid Crafts.

The doll is a Julie Nutting Doll stamp. She was colored with Prismacolor pencils, stamped with a text stamp, covered with Glossy Accents, tulle was added to her skirt, gems for the buttons, as well as a feather to her hat. She was outlined in charcoal for added dimension.

The Eiffel Tower is a LaLa Land Eiffel Tower die, cut once in black for a shadow and cut again and covered in Sugar Coating. It was placed over an X-Cut Doily Die.

3D Flower Star Luminary Lantern

Happy Monday - the first day of December!! Wow - how did that happen??!! This year absolutely flew by...only 25 more days until Christmas!!

I came across this SVG file and knew I had to try it. I have two Moroccan lights that I absolutely love.

The look amazing lit up at night...

So when I saw the SVG file that looked so much like them, I knew I had to have it :)

I found the file at Exquisite Paper Design's Etsy shop. You can find it HERE. She is super-nice with excellent customer service. The first file didn't work with my Explore so she sent one that did work. If you purchase the file and use an Explore, be sure to let her know. In this shot, I added a tea light but it was still daylight out so it was hard to get a good picture. I want to have an outdoor party just so I can string a bunch of these in the trees...wouldn't it look amazing??!! And to make this only took three sheets of 8 1/2 x 11 heavyweight cardstock.

Then I had a thought that the star would look awesome as a Christmas tree topper (yes, I have my tree up already ;)

3. Little Scrap Pieces - Show It Off Saturday

I hope you have a wonderful first week of December!! If you do some shopping on Cyber Monday...I hope you find amazing deals!! Thanks so much for stopping by :)
